Our Story

We of Glen James Bow Ties have been enthusiasts of the bow tie for 20 years. We named our new company for our dads who were always proud of us, always loved us and always will. Only a few companies offer well designed hand made bow ties and we are one of them. Our goal is to enjoy our part in bringing the bow tie into the main stream of business and social dress.

History

The bow tie was first worn by Croatian soldiers during the Thirty Years War of the 17^th Century.  After the early 20^th Century it came to be associated with evening dress.  Until that time, the bow was common for day wear and it still can be. Bow ties are more practical than straight ties.  They are less expensive and far more comfortable.  They look good on everyone.  If all of this were not enough, they are more fun for someone you love to untie!

Our Ties

All Glen James Bow Ties are made from wool and silk fabric imported from the UK. They are hand crafted by skilled union artisan in the United States and are offered in two traditional shapes.

Our Guarantee

If you are not completely satisfied with one of our products simply return it to us within one year along with the original sales slip. We will send you another tie or issue a full credit.
